AI Innovator Studio + Challenge

Students strengthen AI literacy and design skills to make an impact in the world

Empowering Designers and Innovators!

Be part of the ISTE+ASCD AI Studio + Challenge - where students design with purpose, educators find support, and communities benefit from innovation.

What is the AI Innovator Studio + Challenge?

The AI Innovator Studio + Challenge strengthens AI literacy while empowering students to use AI as a tool for creativity, problem-solving, and positive change while equipping teachers with the resources and community they need to guide innovation confidently. ISTE+ASCDLenovoMicrosoft, and Intel recognize the transformative opportunities of AI in education and are excited to support students in unleashing their creativity using AI, fostering digital citizenship, and driving meaningful change in their communities.

The AI Innovator Studio + Challenge brings together two complementary parts into one program:

AI Innovator Studio – Ongoing support for educators and schools
The Studio provides 15 lessons, educator webinars, and a professional community to help you bring AI and innovation into any learning space. Whether you’re integrating a short unit into your curriculum or planning a schoolwide innovation event, the Studio offers flexible, ready-to-use support.

AI Innovator Challenge – A global showcase for student innovation
The Challenge invites student teams to design AI-powered solutions that address community issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The three finalist teams share their projects live on stage at ISTELive, celebrating youth voices shaping a better world.

Together, the Studio + Challenge empower schools to build AI literacy, foster responsible digital citizenship, and celebrate student voice on a worldwide stage.

Who's Eligible?

The AI Innovator Studio + Challenge is open to all educators across the globe interested in advancing ethical and appropriate AI for good. The Challenge is open to teams of up to three high school students (grades 9–12) working with a teacher sponsor.

Why Participate?

For Students – A chance to design real-world solutions, grow as ethical digital citizens, and share their voices on a global stage.

For Educators – Year-round support, practical resources, and a professional community to make AI innovation accessible for all learners.

For Schools – A pathway to connect local learning with global challenges, building pride and impact across the community.
