ISTE+ASCD in North Carolina

North Carolina educators are doing extraordinary work — implementing new literacy frameworks, navigating AI in classrooms, and leading schools through one of the most dynamic periods in education.

The state has adopted the ISTE Standards, giving districts a shared framework for what effective technology use looks like for students, educators, and leaders — and in partnership with NCDPI, every public school educator in North Carolina now has free access to ISTE+ASCD membership. ISTE+ASCD is here to support that work, helping put those standards into practice with professional learning built around what educators are navigating now.

Stokes County Schools
A Distinguished School Awardee

Stokes County Schools was named ISTE+ASCD's 2025 Distinguished District Award winner, recognized for the transformational learning happening across the district — a reflection of what NC educators are achieving statewide when great teaching meets the right professional community.

The district's award-winning approach is built on trust, accountability, and community, guided by the belief that all children can and will learn. It's this commitment to student success, global readiness, and positive life impact, in a safe and supportive environment, that set Stokes County apart.

“This prestigious recognition celebrates our district’s innovation and commitment to leveraging technology to improve student outcomes and engagement.”

Meeting North Carolina Educators Where They Are

Clarity in a Digital World

HB 959 requires every public school to teach social media literacy beginning in the 2026–27 school year. ISTE+ASCD’s free Digital Citizenship framework gives NC educators the professional learning and classroom tools to make digital citizenship a genuine, lasting skill for every NC student.

Leading in the Age of AI

North Carolina educators are asking how to use AI in ways that genuinely help students learn.
ISTE+ASCD helps educators move from curiosity to confident practice, with frameworks that work within existing Google and Microsoft ecosystems. Directly approvable through Title II-A budgets and aligned to the Profile of an AI-Ready Graduate.

Instructional Leadership and Coaching

ISTE+ASCD’s Instructional Leadership & Coaching programs support principals, instructional coaches, and CAOs with practical frameworks for classroom observation, coaching cycles, PLC development, and new teacher induction. Designed for the realities NC leaders are navigating today, and the schools they are working to build for tomorrow.

Practical Teaching Strategies

North Carolina educators are navigating shifts in how literacy is taught, how technology supports learning, and how schools measure student growth. ISTE+ASCD offers practical resources and professional learning to help teachers and leaders make those shifts real in classrooms.
