Community Leaders

Serving as an ISTE+ASCD Community Leader is a great way to volunteer with other passionate educators, share your expertise, and give back to the education field. Community Leaders typically contribute 1-5 hours per month as a volunteer. Community Leaders...

  • Build Educator Networks by supporting our community groups in Connect, ISTE+ASCD’s online professional learning network, and by convening educators in virtual meetups.
  • Facilitate Peer-to-Peer Learning by developing short PD videos, presenting webinars, producing The Edge podcast, and even hosting virtual events like the Global Impact Virtual Conference.
  • Increase the Value of ISTE+ASCD Membership by creating resources that help members get the most out of their member benefits.

Past volunteers have even gone on to write ISTE+ASCD books, author ISTE U courses, write for the ISTE+ASCD Blog or Edsurge, and even serve on the ISTE+ASCD Board of Directors.

We Love Our Volunteers!

Community Leaders are the lifeblood of our community, and there are opportunities to contribute as much or as little as you’d like. Most volunteers contribute one to five hours per month, and active volunteers benefit from:

  • Opportunities to develop valuable professional skills through unique volunteer activities
  • Exclusive access to a private Community Leader group in Connect.
  • Recognition at ISTELive and ASCD Annual Conference, including a service recognition certificate.
  • Volunteers who contribute at least 100 hours throughout the program year will receive a PD voucher to redeem a selection of ISTE+ASCD opportunities!

  • Feel connected. Become part of a special community that drives the success of the conference.
  • Learn new skills. Develop new skill sets you can bring back to your organization or use to enhance your resume.
  • Meet new friends and colleagues. Volunteers make connections with other educators that reach beyond their volunteer shifts and the conference.

Some volunteer roles are eligible to receive a refund of your conference registration fee upon completion of your volunteer service.
